Rather than these individual consumers contacting the companies directly, they decided to submit their complaints via cyberspace on websites, blogs, etc. It seems that some major corporations are monitoring these sites and have even responded immediately to these complaints in order to improve their image. Specifically, a Comcast customer submitted a complaint on a well known blog and a Comcast technician was out to his home in 24 hours! I can't even count how many times I've had to call Comcast for some reason and I don't get see a technician for at least a week and it's usually between the hours of 8am and 5pm! And I'm sure that everyone has been there before...

So I guess my rant today is that, why don't these corporations just improve their customer service overall so that ALL of their customers can be satisfied rather than a VERY small percentage? Call me crazy, but wouldn't that make sense?

However, since there have been results with this process, I suppose I should follow suit and submit my own complaint...maybe someone from Comcast will read my blog. I'd really like to know why I only have, at most, 7 days to pay my Comcast bill. For instance my most recent bill. I received it on 7/5 and it's due on 7/11...that's 6 days! What's the deal? That bugs me every month. Does anyone know why that is? Please leave me a comment if you have the answer.

To care, or not to care...

Here's an interesting article about why we, as humans, choose to care about something or choose not to care about something. It talks about how shoes are actually not beneficial for our feet. I have to say that there is probably some validity to this theory since our ancestors did not wear Nike's, Reebok's, or Adidas's. I would like to try this theory out especially since I'm on my feet for 10-14 hours a day while I'm working. However, in my line of work, I don't think that it would be very sanitary to walk around barefoot in a hospital, so I'll have to try it out on my own time. If you haven't already heard, the Democratic National Committee does not want to seat the delegates of Florida and Michigan since the leadership of both states decided to move-up the primary dates, which was a huge "no no." So now both the "Obamas" and the "Clintons" are crying "foul" since one side may have an advantage in the delegate counts due to the outcome of this situation. With all of the squabbling amongst the 2 democratic candidates and the political pundits, the real losers in this "dog and pony show" are as usual...the voters! The election process in this country is so ridiculous. See the article below about this problem and what the planned solution might be...millions of mailed ballots. If that is what the solution ends up being, then I have a feeling that the "chad" issue will look like a picnic compared to this potential catastrophe. When I hear that one, I think I turn 3 shades of red because of how much I don't like hearing it. There are a bunch that they list that I have never heard of. I will admit, I am partially guilty because I belong to Friendster, but I promise that's the only one and I rarely use it. I can't believe how crazy some people get over these sites (e.g. Facebook, MySpace). In response to these "legitimate" social networking sites, "fake" sites have been created. Some of them are called: Snubster, Hatebook, and Enemybook. Now those are sites that I would like to check out and belong to! I think it's awesome! I ran into the same woman who pissed me off the other day. Earlier in the evening, I was riding the T with a friend and wouldn't you know it, she appeared out of no where at one of the Green Line stations! I decided to be courteous (unlike her) and not make a scene and went about my business, obviously she could care less about what's going on around her. I have to say that things like this happen to me more often than not...I don't know why, it's very strange. I just wish people would be a little more courteous and respectful to one another, is that too much to ask?

What's the deal?

I was so angry earlier today while I was out running some errands. I was buying a birthday card for a friend at a local CVS. First of all, I hate going into this particular CVS...actually I really don't like going into any CVS. Every CVS that I have been in is always so congested and crammed with so much crap that you can't just get in and out. Anyway, surprisingly enough, I found a nice card pretty quickly and went to pay for it at the registers. I usually try to use the automated, self-checkout registers because people usually don't use them and I can make a quick getaway without dealing with the wonderful and helpful clerks (which is a whole different rant for another time), however, today they were both closed. So I got in line behind another customer and waited my turn to pay. As I was waiting, a woman moves in front and next to me off to the left. Now I'm usually pretty courteous and I assumed that she was just going to ask one of the clerks a question...but oh no! This woman got right in front of me and paid for her items...she didn't say anything to me! At that point I was fuming! So I moved over to another line and waited my turn again. As I was waiting, she turns and starts toward me and looks me straight in the eye and says NOTHING! So I say to her..."thanks for getting in front of me in line!" And she just stares at me...she doesn't even say "I'm sorry," "excuse me," or "oh, I didn't see you there," absolutely nothing! What's wrong with people? Now I know that this is not an "Earth shattering" ordeal, but why are some people so inconsiderate and basically stupid? It makes me so mad! Sorry, I just had to vent about this story...because it happens all of the time and I'm so sick of it. Thanks for listening to my rant today...I feel a little better.

Follow-up to: "A day late and a dollar short..."

What a shock...the mother of Britney Spears has put her parenting book on hold for a little while (actually, it's on hold "indefinitely"). And then...while in jail, reflecting on her experience (insert the sound of me gagging), she proclaims the following: "I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter but important lesson from this experience." What a crock! How much did you learn Paris? Well apparently not too much. Right before she was released, she made sure to put on her "Sunday finest" and primp herself with makeup and all to greet the thousand reporters awaiting her exit from jail. Then she makes her appearance, grinning from ear to ear, greeting all of the reporters and cameras for a quick photo-op, followed by speeding away to her mansion. Wow, Paris, you really learned something from your experience...it's good to be a celebrity and have money and fame and maybe I should hire a chauffeur to cart me around so I don't run into trouble again. I can't wait for her next reality show "The Simple Life 6: Probation Paris, the sequel." I guess you can tell by my rant that this has really irritated me. With all that is happening in the world, this made headline news today around the clock.

Anyhow, that's all for now. Tune in next time for more of my ranting and raving!

Welcome!

Hi there!
