What a "feet!"
Here is another interesting article that I found today. It talks about how shoes are actually not beneficial for our feet. I have to say that there is probably some validity to this theory since our ancestors did not wear Nike's, Reebok's, or Adidas's. I would like to try this theory out especially since I'm on my feet for 10-14 hours a day while I'm working. However, in my line of work, I don't think that it would be very sanitary to walk around barefoot in a hospital, so I'll have to try it out on my own time. Take a look at this article.

Repeat?
Why is it that Florida seems to always have a problem with elections? If you haven't already heard, the Democratic National Committee does not want to seat the delegates of Florida and Michigan since the leadership of both states decided to move-up the primary dates, which was a huge "no no." So now both the "Obamas" and the "Clintons" are crying "foul" since one side may have an advantage in the delegate counts due to the outcome of this situation. With all of the squabbling amongst the 2 democratic candidates and the political pundits, the real losers in this "dog and pony show" are as usual...the voters! The election process in this country is so ridiculous. See the article below about this problem and what the planned solution might be...millions of mailed ballots. If that is what the solution ends up being, then I have a feeling that the "chad" issue will look like a picnic compared to this potential catastrophe. Stay tuned, this outta be good!

Will Nader ever take a hint?
You would think after 4 previously failed attempts at the presidency that Ralph Nader would take a hint that maybe he's not going to be elected President after a 5th run...I'm not a psychic, so that's just a guess.
Here's an article about his latest "awe inspiring" comments regarding the democratic party.

P.S. Doesn't he look like the uncle your family doesn't talk about? I think he's a bit scary looking.

Real "Yada Yada Yada..."
I found this article about common and annoying phrases that are used in the workplace. The first one in particular always makes my blood boil for some reason. There are those I work with who like to use that phrase a lot in addition to "dangling participle." When I hear that one, I think I turn 3 shades of red because of how much I don't like hearing it. There are a bunch that they list that I have never heard of. Some people come up with the strangest things. Take a look at this article if you're bored.

"Bizarro" Networking
I found this great article the other day about the social networking craze that has been happening for some time now on the web. I will admit, I am partially guilty because I belong to Friendster, but I promise that's the only one and I rarely use it. I can't believe how crazy some people get over these sites (e.g. Facebook, MySpace). In response to these "legitimate" social networking sites, "fake" sites have been created. Some of them are called: Snubster, Hatebook, and Enemybook. Now those are sites that I would like to check out and belong to! I think it's awesome! Take a look at the article...

Follow-up to: "What's the deal?"
I can't believe it...well I actually can kind of believe it. I ran into the same woman who pissed me off the other day. Earlier in the evening, I was riding the T with a friend and wouldn't you know it, she appeared out of no where at one of the Green Line stations! I decided to be courteous (unlike her) and not make a scene and went about my business, obviously she could care less about what's going on around her. I have to say that things like this happen to me more often than not...I don't know why, it's very strange. I just wish people would be a little more courteous and respectful to one another, is that too much to ask?

What's the deal?
I was so angry earlier today while I was out running some errands. I was buying a birthday card for a friend at a local CVS. First of all, I hate going into this particular CVS...actually I really don't like going into any CVS. Every CVS that I have been in is always so congested and crammed with so much crap that you can't just get in and out. Anyway, surprisingly enough, I found a nice card pretty quickly and went to pay for it at the registers. I usually try to use the automated, self-checkout registers because people usually don't use them and I can make a quick getaway without dealing with the wonderful and helpful clerks (which is a whole different rant for another time), however, today they were both closed. So I got in line behind another customer and waited my turn to pay. As I was waiting, a woman moves in front and next to me off to the left. Now I'm usually pretty courteous and I assumed that she was just going to ask one of the clerks a question...but oh no! This woman got right in front of me and paid for her items...she didn't say anything to me! At that point I was fuming! So I moved over to another line and waited my turn again. As I was waiting, she turns and starts toward me and looks me straight in the eye and says NOTHING! So I say to her..."thanks for getting in front of me in line!" And she just stares at me...she doesn't even say "I'm sorry," "excuse me," or "oh, I didn't see you there," absolutely nothing! What's wrong with people? Now I know that this is not an "Earth shattering" ordeal, but why are some people so inconsiderate and basically stupid? It makes me so mad! Sorry, I just had to vent about this story...because it happens all of the time and I'm so sick of it. Thanks for listening to my rant today...I feel a little better.

Follow-up to: "A day late and a dollar short..."
What a shock...the mother of Britney Spears has put her parenting book on hold for a little while (actually, it's on hold "indefinitely"). I guess I can't blame her seeing now that she will have to care for not 2, but 3 babies all thanks to her exceptional parenting. Way to go Lynne Spears, you are truly the model parent!

'Tis the season...
If you're having difficulty, like me, finding "holiday" gifts (I'm trying to be PC), here is an interesting list of gift options. Ever thought of adopting a sheep for a family? I'm sure that would make someone's holiday very special. Enjoy!
